With our Detention Center Chaplaincy we work with youth who have been incarcerated. We work with these youth to build relationships and mentor them to make wiser choices as well as to create opportunities, such a jobs, available to them once they are released. We function in a variety of ways in the detention center as ministers, teachers, coaches, and mentors. We provide 4 chaplains each week who serve in the detention center.

One of the highlights is we put on twice a year a spoken word poetry performance, in which the youth who have been part of the spoken word poetry class perform what they have written for a large crowd of people. This crowd includes judges, parole officers, detention center staff, and community members. |
